Mini Gingerbread Houses
Servings - 5 - 7

 

INGREDIENTS
Butter - 120 grams
Caster sugar - 120 grams
Egg - 1
Flour - 500 grams
Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
Ginger bread spice - 3 teaspoons
Honey - 200 grams

Royal Icing
Icing sugar - 500 grams
Egg white - 2
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

 

PREPARATION


1. In a mixing bowl, add 120 grams butter, 120 grams caster sugar and beat them together until fluffy.
2. Add 1 egg, 500 grams flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 3 teaspoons ginger bread spice, 200 grams honey and mix well until combine.
3. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
4. Roll the dough with little bit of flour till 4-5mm thick and cut out any shape you want.
5. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are browned.

Royal Icing
1. In a mixing bowl, add 500 grams icing sugar, 2 egg white, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and whisk for 3 - 5 minutes.
2. Glue the parts of houses together with royal icing and set aside for a few hours to dry and then decorate as you want.
