Mutton Pepper Masala

INGREDIENTS

Mutton - 600 grams

Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon

Oil - 60 milliliters

Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon

Curry leaves - 5

Green chili - 3

Onions - 210 grams

Tomato - 225 grams

Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Black pepper powder - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon

Water - 150 milliliters

Coriander - for garnishing

PREPARATION

1. In a mixing bowl, add 600 grams mutton, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and mix it well.

2. Marinate the mutton for 30 minutes.

3. Heat 60 milliliters oil in a pressure cooker, add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 - 2 minutes.

4. Then, add 5 curry leaves, 3 green chili and stir well.

5. Now, add 210 grams onions and fry till translucent.

6. Add 225 grams tomato and saute till it turns soft and pulpy.

7. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and mix it well.

8. Now, add the marinated mutton in it and mix it well.

9. Then, add 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala and mix it well.

10. Add 150 milliliters water and mix it again.

11. Cover it with lid and cook till you hear 4 - 5 whistles.

12. Open the lid and mix it well.

13. Cook on low heat for 3 - 5 minutes.

14. Garnish with coriander.

15. Serve hot.
