Chicken Shawarma

INGREDIENTS

(For Dough)

Warm water - 220 milliliters

Yeast - 1 1/2 tablespoons

Sugar - 1 teaspoon

All purpose flour - 450 grams

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Olive oil - 1 teaspoon

(For Salad)

Water - 220 milliliters

Vinegar - 220 milliliters

Salt - 2 teaspoons

Sugar - 2 teaspoons

Cucumber - 50 grams

Carrot - 50 grams

Onions - 50 grams

Lettuce - 25 grams

Garlic mayonnaise - 100 grams

(For Chicken Marination)

Boneless chicken - 535 grams

Garlic - 2 tablespoons

Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon

Vinegar - 1 tablespoon

Chili sauce - 50 grams

Yogurt - 100 grams

White pepper - 1 teaspoon

Black pepper - 1 teaspoon

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

PREPARATION

(For Dough)

1. In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and knead it into a smooth soft dough.

2. Rest the dough for 2 hours.

(For Salad)

1. Take a deep pan, add 220 milliliters water, 220 milliliters vinegar, 2 teaspoons salt, 2 teaspoons sugar and bring it to a boil.

2. Remove it from heat and allow it to cool.

3. In a bowl, add 50 grams cucumber, 50 grams carrot, 50 grams onions and pour the vinegar mixture in it.

4. Soak it for 5 minutes. Drain it well and transfer it to a bowl.

5. Add 25 grams lettuce, 100 grams garlic mayonnaise and mix it well. Keep aside.

(For Chicken Marination)

1. In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients except olive oil and mix it well.

2. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes.

3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a pot, add the marinated chicken in it and cook till it turns golden brown in color or the chicken is tender.

4. Remove it from heat and keep aside.

(Rest of the Preparation)

1. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll it into balls. Rest it for 30 minutes.

2. Take a ball from it and roll it into a roti using a rolling pin.

3. Place it on a hot tawa and cook it from both sides till golden brown in color.

4. Place it on a board.

5. Add some cucumber salad on top of it.

6. Place the cooked chicken on top of it.

7. Roll it tightly and prick it with a toothpick.

8. Cut it into half.

9. Serve.
