Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Boiled taro - 550 grams
Oil
Rice flour - 30 grams
Oil - for frying
Cumin - 1 teaspoon
Fennel - 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 10 - 12
Green chili - 1
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
PREPARATION
1. Take a bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon chaat masala, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon salt and mix well. Keep aside the spice mix.
2. Take 550 grams boiled taro and cut it into pieces.
3. Apply some oil to palms and press down the boiled taro piece in your palms to make a patty.
4. Transfer them into bowl, add 30 grams rice flour and mix well.
5. Heat some oil for shallow frying in a pan, add 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon fennel, 10 - 12 curry leaves, 1 green chili and stir well.
6. Put the taro patties in the pan and shallow fry them on low heat till they turn slightly brown.
7. Add the spice mix to the frying taro and toss it all in the pan to give it a proper mix.
8. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix well.
9. Serve hot with ketchup.
