Baklava with Wheat Germ and Healthy Nuts and Fruit

Servings - 4

INGREDIENTS

All purpose flour - 150 grams
Wheat germ - 60 grams
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Water - 50 milliliters
Almonds - 2 tablespoons
Walnuts - 30 grams
Raisins - 2 tablespoons
Pistachios - 30 grams
Melon seeds - 30 grams
Chironji seeds - 2 tablespoons
Dried blueberry - 2 tablespoons
Palm sugar - 2 tablespoons
Cinnamon powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Honey - 60 milliliters
Water - 300 milliliters
Lime zest - 1/2 teaspoon
Butter - for brushing
Pistachios - for garnishing

PREPARATION


1. In a mixing bowl, add 150 grams all purpose flour, 60 grams wheat germ, 2 tablespoons oil, 1/4 teaspoon salt and mix it well.
2. Add 50 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
3. Rest the dough for 15 minutes.
4. In a blender, add 2 tablespoons almonds, 30 grams walnuts, 2 tablespoons raisins, 30 grams pistachios, 30 grams melon seeds, 2 tablespoons chironji seeds, 2 tablespoons dried blueberry, 2 tablespoons palm sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder and blend it well.
5. Take a pan, add 1 tablespoon sugar, 60 milliliters honey, 300 milliliters water and stir continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved.
6. Add 1/2 teaspoon lime zest and mix it well.
7. Bring it to a boil. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
8. Take a ball from dough and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
9. Cut it’s sides to make a square.
10. Place this on a baking dish and brush it with butter.
11. Then, add the blended powder on it.
12. Repeat this process 4 times.
13. Cut it into 4 pieces.
14. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for about 30 - 35 minutes.
15. Remove it from oven.
16. Pour the prepared syrup over it.
17. Soak for about 5 minutes.
18. Garnish with pistachios.
19. Serve.
