Chicken Puff Pastry

INGREDIENTS

All purpose flour - 300 grams
Butter - 60 grams
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 160 milliliters
Butter - 125 grams
Butter - for brushing
Chicken breast - 510 grams
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Paprika - 1/4 teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoons
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Garlic - 2 teaspoons
Ginger - 2 teaspoons
Onions - 95 grams
Bell pepper - 95 grams
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Paprika - 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Chilli flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
Green chilli sauce - 1 tablespoon
Ketchup - 1 tablespoon
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Egg wash - for brushing


PREPARATION


1. In a mixing bowl, add 300 grams all purpose flour, 60 grams butter, 1/2 teaspoon salt and mix it well.
2. Then, add 160 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
3. Wrap the dough in a plastic wrap.
4. Refrigerate for 15 - 20 minutes.
5. Take a plastic wrap and place 125 grams butter on it. Cover it with wrap.
6. Flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
7. Refrigerate for 15 - 20 minutes.
8. Now, take a dough ball and roll out the dough into a large rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Place crumbled butter in the center and fold the two ends over and refrigerate for 15 - 20 minutes again.
9. Take the refrigerated dough and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
10. Brush it with butter.
11. Fold the dough and refrigerate for 15 - 20 minutes. Repeat this process 3 times.
12. In a mixing bowl, add 510 grams chicken breast, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it well.
13. Marinate for 30 minutes.
14. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan, add the marinated chicken breast on it and cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
15. Flip it gently and again cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
16. Cook, until it turns golden brown in color from all sides or until the chicken, is fully cooked.
17. Remove it from heat and place it on a board.
18. Shred the chicken with the help of a fork. Keep aside.
19. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet, add 2 teaspoons garlic, 2 teaspoons ginger and stir well.
20. Then, add 95 grams onions and fry till translucent or until it turns golden brown in color.
21. Now, add 95 grams bell pepper and mix it well.
22. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
23. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder and mix it well.
24. Then, add the cooked chicken and mix it well.
25. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
26. Add 1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes, 1 tablespoon green chilli sauce, 1 tablespoon ketchup, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it well.
27. Cook for another 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
28. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
29. Now, take dough and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
30. Cut it’s sides and divided the dough into equal portions.
31. Take the portion and add the prepared chicken on it.
32. Fold the dough and seal the edges.
33. Place it on a baking tray.
34. Brush it with egg wash.
35. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes.
36. Serve hot.
