 Dhokla Sushi

 

Servings - 2 - 3

 

INGREDIENTS

(For Dhokla)
Semolina - 200 grams

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Curd - 200 grams

Water - 70 milliliters

Fruit salt - 1 teaspoon

Water - 20 milliliters

 

(For Green Chutney)

Mint - 15 grams

Coriander - 20 grams

Spring onions - 50 grams

Green chili - 1 tablespoon

Mustard powder - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons

 

(For Garlic Chutney)

Oil - 1 tablespoon

Garlic cloves - 8 - 10

Coconut - 60 grams

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Red chili - 1 teaspoon

 

(For Dhokla Sushi)

Black & white sesame seeds

Bell pepper

Carrots

Cabbage

 

PREPARATION

(For Dhokla)

  1. In a mixing bowl, add 200 grams semolina, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 200 grams curd and mix it well.
  2. Add 70 milliliters water and mix it again.
  3. Rest the batter for 10 - 15 minutes.
  4. Then, add 1 teaspoon fruit salt, 20 milliliters water and mix it well.
  5. Pour the batter into the steamer dish.
  6. Place it into the steamer.
  7. Cover it with lid and steam for about 8 - 10 minutes.
  8. Open the lid and remove the dish from it. Keep aside.

 

(For Green Chutney)

  1. In a blender, add all the ingredients and blend it into a paste.
  2. Keep aside.

 

(For Garlic Chutney)

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan, add 8 - 10 garlic cloves and stir well.
  2. Then, add 60 grams coconut and mix it well.
  3. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat or until it turns golden brown in color.
  4. Now, add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon red chili and mix it well.
  5. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes on medium heat.
  6. Remove it from heat and transfer this into a blender and blend well.
  7. Keep aside.

 

(For Dhokla Sushi)

  1. Take the prepared dhokla and cut it’s sides.
  2. Then, take a plastic wrap and add some black and white sesame seeds on it.
  3. Place the cooked dhokla on it.
  4. Now, add some prepared green chutney on it and spread it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle some prepared garlic chutney on it.
  6. Add the some bell pepper, carrots and cabbage on it.
  7. Roll it tightly and close the sides of plastic wrap.
  8. Refrigerate for 10 - 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the plastic wrap and cut it into pieces.
  10. Garnish with prepared garlic chutney and spring onions.
  11. Serve.
