INGREDIENTS 

All purpose flour - 300 grams

Oil - 80 milliliters

Water - 100 milliliters

Oil - for frying

Oil - 80 milliliters

Fennel seeds - 1 1/2 tablespoons

Jaggery - 250 grams

PREPARATION

1. In a mixing bowl, add 300 grams all purpose flour, 80 milliliters oil and mix well.

2. Add 100 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.

3. Rest the dough for 10 minutes.

4. Divide the dough in four parts and roll each portion of the dough into a half an inch thick round circle. Cut them into vertical strips and then into 2-3 inch long strips. Repeat for rest of the

dough portions.

5. Heat sufficient oil in a heavy skillet. Deep fry these till they are brown and crispy. Drain it on an absorbent paper. 

6. Heat 80 milliliters oil in a heavy skillet, add 1 1/2 tablespoons fennel seeds and stir well.

7. Add 250 grams jaggery and stir well. On a slow heat allow it to melt, stirring continuously all the time.

8. Now, add the fried strips to the jaggery syrup. Mix quickly so that all the strips are evenly coated with the jaggery.

9. Cool and serve.

10. You can store them in an airtight container for 15 days.
