Masala Roti

INGREDIENTS
Whole wheat flour - 300 grams
Carom seeds - 1/2 teaspoons
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 200 milliliters
Ghee
Red chili - to taste
Chaat masala - to taste
Whole wheat flour
Ghee - for brushing

 

PREPARATION


1. In a mixing bowl, add 300 grams whole wheat flour, 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 200 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
2. Rest the dough for 10 minutes.
3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into balls.
4. Dust with a little dry flour and roll into roti.
5. Apply some ghee over it.
6. Sprinkle red chili, chaat masala and whole wheat flour on it.
7. Make a cut in the roti from the centre outwards and roll it in the shape of a cone to make layer.
8. Press this cone and roll it back into a roti.
9. Heat a skillet, place roti on it and cook on moderate heat for three minutes. Turn it and pour ghee over it, spread it on roti and shallow fry over low heat.
10. Turn it and again pour ghee on other side. Cook on low heat till golden brown.
11. Serve hot.
