Black Eyed Peas Curry
Servings - 3 - 5

 

INGREDIENTS
Black eyed peas - 200 grams
Water - 600 milliliters
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Cumin - 1 tablespoon
Curry leaves - 15 - 20
Gram flour - 2 tablespoons
Water - 120 milliliters
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili - 1 1/2 teaspoons
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Tamarind paste - 1 tablespoon
Jaggery - 1 tablespoon
Coriander - 2 tablespoons

 

PREPARATION


1. Add 200 grams black eyed peas in a skillet, add 600 milliliters water and cover it with a lid.
2. Bring it to boil. Keep aside.
3. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a heavy skillet, add 1 tablespoon cumin, 15 - 20 curry leaves and stir.
4. Add 2 tablespoons gram flour and stir for a minute.
5. Add 120 milliliters water and stir well.
6. Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 1/2 teaspoons red chili, 1 teaspoon salt and mix well.
7. Add the boiled black eyed peas in it and mix it well.
8. Add 1 tablespoon tamarind paste, 1 tablespoon jaggery, 2 tablespoons coriander and mix well.
9. Serve hot.
