Malvani Fish Curry

INGREDIENTS

Sole fish - 950 grams
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Rice - 2 tablespoons
Dry red chili - 3
Dry paprika - 3
Coriander seeds - 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Black peppercorns - 5
Water - 300 milliliters
Coconut - 35 grams
Onions - 90 grams
Garlic - 1 1/2 tablespoons
Oil - 30 milliliters
Onions - 120 grams
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 400 milliliters
Coriander - for garnishing
PREPARATION
1. In a mixing bowl, add 950 grams sole fish, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and mix it well.
2. Marinate for 15 minutes.
3. In a bowl, add 2 tablespoons rice, 3 dry red chili, 3 dry paprika, 1 teaspoon coriander seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds5 black peppercorns, 300 milliliters water and mix it well.
4. Soak for 15 minutes.
5. Transfer this into a blender, add 90 grams onions, 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic and blend it into a smooth puree. Keep aside.
6. Heat 30 milliliters oil in a heavy skillet, add 120 grams onions and dry till translucent.
7. Add 1 teaspoon salt and mix it well.
8. Then, add the blended mixture in it and mix it well.
9. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
10. Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and mix it well.
11. Now, add 400 milliliters water and mix it again.
12. Add the marinated fish and mix it well.
13. Cover it with lid and cook for about 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
14. Open the lid and give it a nice stir.
15. Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
16. Garnish with coriander.
17. Serve hot with rice or naan.
