Afghani Fateer Pyazi

 

Servings - 4

 

INGREDIENTS
Dry yeast - 2 teaspoons

Sugar - 2 teaspoons

Warm water - 50 milliliters

All purpose flour - 300 grams

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Water - 150 milliliters

Butter - for brushing

Onions - to taste

Chilli flakes - to taste

Coriander - to taste

Milk - for brushing

 

PREPARATION

  1. In a mixing bowl, add 2 teaspoons dry yeast, 2 teaspoons sugar, 50 milliliters wam water and mix it well.
  2. Rest the mixture for 5 minutes.
  3. Add 300 grams all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt and mix it well.
  4. Add 150 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
  5. Rest the dough for 2 hours.
  6. Divide the dough into equal portions.
  7. Take one portion of the dough and dust it with flour.
  8. Flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
  9. Brush it with butter.
  10. Add some onions on top of it.
  11. Sprinkle some chilli flakes and coriander on  it.
  12. Roll it up to form a swiss roll.
  13. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  14. Take the roll and dust it with flour.
  15. Flatten it with the help of your fingers.
  16. Prick it with fork and place it on a baking tray.
  17. Brush it with milk.
  18. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for about 12 - 15 minutes.
  19. Remove it from oven.
  20. Serve hot with curd.
