Lays Sandwich

INGREDIENTS

(For Sandwich Masala)
Cumin seeds - 1 tablespoon
Black peppercorns - 1 tablespoon
Fennel seeds - 1 tablespoon
Cinnamon stick - 2
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon
Dry mango powder - 1/2 teaspoon

(For Green Chutney)
Coriander - 10 grams
Roasted peanuts - 1 tablespoon
Green chili - 1 tablespoon
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

(For Lays Sandwich)
Potatoes - 300 grams
Water - 500 milliliters
Onions - 50 grams
Bell pepper - 50 grams
Green chili - 1 teaspoon
Prepared sandwich masala - 1 teaspoon
Bread slices - 12
Butter - to taste
Processed cheese - to taste
Lays - to taste
Butter - for brushing & grilling

PREPARATION


(For Sandwich Masala)
1. Take a pan, add 1 tablespoon cumin seeds, 1 tablespoon black peppercorns, 1 tablespoon fennel seeds, 2 cinnamon sticks and dry roast for 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat or until it turns golden brown in color.
2. Transfer this into a blender, add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon red chili, 1/2 teaspoon dry mango powder and blend it into a fine powder. Keep aside.

(For Green Chutney)
1. In a blender, add all the ingredients and blend it into a paste.
2. Keep aside.

(For Lays Sandwich)
1. Take a pressure cooker, add 300 grams potatoes, 500 milliliters water and cover it with lid.
2. Cook until you hear 2 - 3 whistles.
3. Open the lid and remove it from heat.
4. Peel the potatoes and transfer this into a mixing bowl.
5. Mash the potatoes with the help of a food masher.
6. Add 50 grams onions, 50 grams bell pepper, 1 teaspoon green chili, 1 teaspoon prepared sandwich masala and mix all the ingredients well.
7. Take 2 bread slices and spread the butter on it.
8. Add the prepared green chutney on it and spread it evenly.
9. Then, add the prepared potato mixture and spread it evenly.
10. Now, top with processed cheese.
11. Sprinkle some prepared sandwich masala on top of it.
12. Add some lays on it.
13. Cover it with another slice of bread.
14. Heat some butter on a griller.
15. Place the sandwich on it.
16. Brush it with butter.
17. Cover the griller and grill for about 3 - 5 minutes or until it turns golden brown in color.
18. Remove it from griller and cut it into half.
19. Serve hot.
