Haldi Matar Ki Sabzi

INGREDIENTS

Oil - 2 tablespoons

Green peas - 200 grams

Curd - 180 grams

Red chili - 1 teaspoon

Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon

Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon

Garam masala - 1 teaspoon

Ghee - 2 tablespoons

Green cardamom - 2 pods

Cloves - 4 pods

Cinnamon stick - 1 

Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon

Asafoetida - 1/8 teaspoon

Garlic - 1 tablespoon

Ginger - 1 tablespoon

Green chili - 1 tablespoon

Grated turmeric - 250 grams

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Coriander - 1 1/2 tablespoons

 

PREPARATION

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan, add 200 grams green peas and mix it well.
  2. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
  4. In a mixing bowl, add 180 grams curd, 1 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala and mix it well.
  5. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a skillet, add 2 pods green cardamom, 4 pods cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/8 teaspoon asafoetida and stir well.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon garlic, 1 tablespoon ginger, 1 tablespoon green chili and stir for 2 - 3 minutes.
  7. Then, add 250 grams grated turmeric and mix it well.
  8. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
  9. Now, add the curd mixture in it and mix it well.
  10. Cook for another 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
  11. Add 1 teaspoon salt and mix it well.
  12. Then, add the cooked green peas and mix it again.
  13. Cover it with lid and cook for about 10 - 15 minutes on medium heat.
  14. Open the lid and give it a nice stir.
  15. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons coriander and mix it well.
  16. Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
  17. Remove it from heat.
  18. Serve.
