Onion Capsicum Masala

INGREDIENTS

Oil - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Bell pepper - 125 grams

Onions - 50 grams

Dry red chili - 3

Hot water - 100 milliliters

Tomato - 200 grams

Green chili - 2 teaspoons

Oil - 30 milliliters

Cumin - 1 teaspoon

Garlic - 1 1/2 teaspoon

Ginger - 1 1/2 teaspoon

Onions - 120 grams

Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Red chili - 1 teaspoon

Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon

Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon

Water - 100 milliliters

Coriander - 1 tablespoon

 

PREPARATION

  1. Heat 1 1/2 teaspoons oil in a pan, add 125 grams bell pepper, 50 grams onions and saute for 3 - 5 minutes.
  2. Now, in a mixing bowl, add 3 dry red chili, 100 milliliters water and soak for 20 - 25 minutes.
  3. Then, in a another mixing bowl, add 200 grams tomatoes, soaked red chili, 2 teaspoons green chili and transfer it to a blender and blend it to a smooth paste.
  4. Heat 30 mililiters oil in a pan, add 1 teaspoon cumin and sauté for 1 - 2 minutes.
  5. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic, 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger and saute for 3 - 5 minutes.
  6. Now, add 120 grams onions and  fry till translucent or until it turns golden brown in color.
  7. Add blended mixture and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
  8. Now, add 1/4 turmeric, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder and mix it well.
  9. Then, add 100 milliliters water and mix it.
  10. Cover it with lid and cook for about 5 - 8 minutes on medium heat.
  11. Add saute onion and bell pepper and mix it well.
  12. Cover it with lid and cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
  13. Now, add 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it well.
  14. Remove it from heat.
  15. Serve.
