Coconut - 115 grams
Garlic - 5 - 6 cloves
Green chili - 3
Ginger - 1 tablespoon
(For Malvani Masala)
Dry red chili - 5 - 6
Black peppercorns - 10
Cloves - 6 - 7 pods
Bay leaf - 1
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
Nutmeg powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin - 1 teaspoon
Coriander seeds - 1 teaspoon
(For Gravy)
Oil - 60 milliliters
Onions - 290 grams
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili - 1 teaspoon
Malvani masala - 2 tablespoons
Boneless chicken - 1 kilogram
Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoons
Water - 220 milliliters
Coriander - for garnishing
PREPARATION
(For Coconut Paste)
1. In a bowl, add 115 grams coconut, 5 - 6 cloves garlic, 3 green chili, 1 tablespoon ginger and blend it into a fine paste.
(For Malvani Masala)
1. Take a pan, add all the Malvani masala ingredients and dry roast them till it turns golden brown in color.
2. Transfer them into blender and blend it into a fine powder. Keep aside.
(For Gravy)
1. Heat 60 milliliters oil in a heavy skillet, add 290 grams onions and fry till it turns golden brown in color.
2. Add the blended coconut mixture in it and mix it well.
3. Now, add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon red chili, 2 tablespoons malvani masala and mix it well. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes.
4. Then, add 1 kilogram boneless chicken and mix it well.
5. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 220 milliliters water and mix it well.
6. Cover it with lid and cook for 25 - 30 minutes.
7. Garnish with coriander.
8. Serve.
