Moong Dal Khichdi

INGREDIENTS

Rice - 115 grams

Split mung beans - 115 grams

Water - 500 milliliters

Ghee - 2 tablespoons

Cumin - 1 teaspoon

Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon

Water - 990 Milliliters

Salt - 1 teaspoon

PREPARATION

1. In a mixing bowl, add 115 grams rice, 115 grams split mung beans, 500 milliliters water and wash rice and split mung beans together.

2. Heat 2 tablespoons ghee in a heavy skillet, add 1 teaspoon cumin, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and saute.

4. Add washed rice and dal and saute for 3 - 5 minutes.

5. Then, add 990 milliliters water, 1 teaspoon salt and cover and cook for 3 - 4 whistles.

6. Serve.
