moong dal - 400 grams
Water - 500 milliliters
Onions - 100 grams
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
Green chili - 2 teaspoons
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
Oil - for frying
Oil - 45 milliliters
Garlic - 1 teaspoon
Ginger - 1 teaspoon
Green chili - 2 teaspoons
Onions - 150 grams
Tomato - 150 grams
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili - 1 teaspoon
Water - 220 milliliters
Coriander - for garnishing
PREPARATION
1. In a bowl, add 400 grams moong dal, 500 milliliters water and soak for 2 hours.
2. Transfer this into a blender and blend well.
3. Transfer this into a bowl, add 100 grams onions, 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste, 2 teaspoons green chili, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon garam masala and mix it well.
4. Take some mixture in your hands and shape it into a ball.
5. Heat sufficient oil in a heavy skillet and deep fry these until golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain it on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
7. Heat 45 milliliters oil in a pan, add 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon ginger, 2 teaspoons green chili and saute for 2 - 3 minutes or until it turns golden brown in color.
8. Then, add 100 grams onions and fry till translucent.
9. Now, add 150 grams tomato and saute until it turns soft and pulpy.
10. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
11. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon red chili and mix it well.
12. Add 220 milliliters water and stir well.
13. Bring it to a boil.
14. Now, add the fried balls in it and mix it well.
15. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
16. Garnish with coriander.
17. Serve hot with roti.
