Tawa Aloo Masala

INGREDIENTS
Oil - 1 1/2 tablespoons
Boiled potatoes - 500 grams
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Chaat masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Oil - 2 teaspoons
Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Onions - 70 grams
Ginger paste -1/2 teaspoon
Garlic paste - 1/2 teaspoon
Tomato puree - 180 milliliters
Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Fenugreek - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander - for garnishing

 

PREPARATION

 
1. Heat 1 1/2 teaspoons oil in a heavy skillet, add 500 grams boiled potatoes, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon coriander, 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala and mix well. Fry the potatoes on a medium heat. Once the potatoes turn brown, remove from heat.
2. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in heavy skillet, add 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 70 grams onions, 1/2 teaspoon ginger and 1/2 teaspoon garlic and saute till onions turn brown.
3. Add 180 milliliters tomato puree and stir, cook on a medium heat for 2 minutes.
4. Add fried potatoes, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek and mix well. Cook for 4 -5 minutes on a medium heat.
5. Garnish with coriander.
6. Serve hot.
