Garlic Pickle
INGREDIENTS
Oil - 50 milliliters
Mustard seeds - 2 teaspoons
Garlic cloves - 280 grams
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili - 1 teaspoon
Cumin - 1 teaspoon
Fenugreek - 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida - 1/8 teaspoon
Black pepper powder - 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice - 50 milliliters
Salt - 1 tablespoon
PREPARATION
1. Heat 50 milliliters oil in a pan, add 2 teaspoons mustard seeds, 280 grams garlic cloves, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek, 1/8 teaspoon asafoetida and saute on a low heat for 3 - 5 minutes or till they are soft.
2. Add 1 teaspoon black pepper powder, 50 milliliters lemon juice, 1 tablespoon salt and mix it well. Cook on low heat for 15 - 20 minutes.
3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
4. Store in an air-tight container and keep it in refrigerator.
5. Serve with any main course.
