Madeira Cake

INGREDIENTS
Egg powder - 100 grams

Water - 70 milliliters

Unsalted butter - 150 grams

Powdered sugar - 150 grams

All purpose flour - 200 grams

Baking powder - 1 teaspoon

Orange zest - 1 tablespoon

Lemon essence - 1 teaspoon

Milk - 100 milliliters

White chocolate ganache - for garnishing

Orange slices

 

PREPARATION

  1. In a bowl, add 100 grams egg powder, 70 milliliters water and mix it well. Keep aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add 150 grams unsalted butter and whisk it well.
  3. Then, add 150 grams powdered sugar and mix it well.
  4. Now, add the egg mixture in it and mix it well.
  5. Add 200 grams all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 tablespoon orange zest, 1 teaspoon lemon essence, 100 milliliters milk and mix it well to make a thick batter.
  6. Transfer this mixture into a baking tray and spread it evenly.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for 50 - 55 minutes.
  8. Remove it from oven.
  9. Drizzle some white chocolate ganache on it.
  10. Add some orange slices on top of it. 
  11. Cut it into slices.
  12. Serve.
