Butter - 250 grams
Powdered sugar - 250 grams
Eggs - 2
Vanilla extract - 1 1/2 teaspoons
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
Flour - 630 grams
Royal Icing
Icing sugar - 400 grams
Egg white - 2
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Water - 2 teaspoons

PREPARATION
Cookies
1. In a mixing bowl, add 250 grams butter and mix well.
2. Add 250 grams powdered sugar, 2 eggs, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract and whisk till mixed.
3. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and then beat till it becomes light and fluffy.
4. Add 630 grams flour and mix to make a soft dough.
5. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
6. Slightly flour the surface and roll the dough to 1/8 inch in thickness.
7. Cut the desired shape from the dough using cookie cutters or hand made templates.
8. Now arrange them in baking tray.
9. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
10. Cool on a cooling rack.
Royal Icing
1. In a bowl, add 400 grams icing sugar, 2 egg white, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and whisk for 2 - 3 minutes.
2. Add 2 teaspoons water and mix well.
3. Transfer into 4 bowls. Add a small amount of icing color you want and mix well.
4. This icing starts to harden very soon, so keep it covered when not using.
5. Decorate the cookies as you want.
6. Serve and enjoy.
