Bombay Style Sandwich

INGREDIENTS

Oil - 1 tablespoon

Cumin - 1 tablespoon

Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon

Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoons

Green chili - 1 teaspoon

Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon

Boiled mashed potatoes - 350 grams

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Coriander - 1 tablespoon

Oil - for shallow frying

Bread slices

Butter - for brushing

Green chutney - to taste

Red chutney - to taste

Sev - to taste

Cucumber - to taste

Chaat masala - to taste

Boiled beetroot - to taste

Onion slices - to taste

Bell pepper - to taste

Tomato slices - to taste

 

PREPARATION

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet, add 1 tablespoon cumin and stir well.
  2. Add 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida, 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste, 1 teaspoon green chili and stir for 1 - 2 minutes.
  3. Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and stir again.
  4. Then, add 350 grams boiled mashed potatoes and mix it well.
  5. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
  6. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it well.
  7. Add 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it well.
  8. Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
  9. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
  10. Transfer this into a bowl.
  11. Take some mixture in your hands and shape it into a tikki.
  12. Heat some oil in a pan, add the prepared tikki on it.
  13. Cook until it turns golden brown in color from both sides.
  14. Remove it from heat and drain it on an absorbent paper.
  15. Take 2 bread slices and brush it with butter.
  16. Add some green chutney and red chutney on it and spread it evenly.
  17. Now, add the prepared tikki on it and crush it with the help of a spoon.
  18. Garnish with some sev.
  19. Add cucumber slices on it.
  20. Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
  21. Add boiled beetroot slices on it.
  22. Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
  23. Add onion slices on it.
  24. Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
  25. Add bell pepper on it.
  26. Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
  27. Add some tomato slices on it.
  28. Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
  29. Cover it with another slice of bread.
  30. Cut it into pieces.
  31. Spread some butter, green chutney and red chutney on it.
  32. Garnish with sev.
  33. Serve.
