Bread Medu Vada

INGREDIENTS
Bread slices - 12
Yogurt - 200 milliliters
White lentils powder - 35 grams
Onions - 50 grams
Rice flour - 60 grams
Semolina - 50 grams
Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
Cumin - 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 10 - 12
Chilli flakes - 1 teaspoon
Coriander - 7 grams
Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
Yogurt - 75 milliliters
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Oil - for frying

 

PREPARATION


1. Take a bread slice and remove the crust from the bread slice.
2. In a mixing bowl, add 12 bread slices and crumble them into small pieces.
3. Add 200 milliliters yogurt, 35 grams white lentils powder, 50 grams onions, 60 grams rice flour, 50 grams semolina, 1 teaspoon ginger paste, 1 teaspoon cumin, 10 - 12 curry leaves, 1 teaspoon chilli flakes, 7 grams coriander and 1 teaspoon black pepper.
4. Mix all the ingredients well. Add 75 milliliters yogurt, 1/2 teaspoon salt and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
5. Make a small ball and gently press to flatten. Create a hole in the centre with the help of your finger.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a heavy skillet. Deep fry until golden brown.
7. Drain it on an absorbent paper.
8. Serve hot with ketchup or chutney.
