INGREDIENTS

Wheat flour - 300 grams
Water - 160 milliliters
Oil - 30 milliliters
Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Onions - 70 grams
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 10 - 15
Green chili - 1 1/2 teaspoons
Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice - 2 teaspoons
Water - 40 milliliters
Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
PREPARATION
1. In a mixing bowl, add 300 grams wheat flour, 160 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
2. Take a ball from dough and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
3. Place it on a hot tawa and cook on moderate heat for 2 - 3 minutes and flip it gently.
4. Cook until it turns golden brown in color from both sides.
5. Remove it from heat and place it on a board.
6. Make small pieces of chapati with the help of your fingers and keep aside.
7. Heat 30 milliliters oil in a heavy skillet, add 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds and stir well.
8. Then, add 70 grams onions and fry till translucent or until it turns golden brown in color.
9. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 10 - 15 curry leaves, 1 1/2 teaspoons green chili and stir for 2 - 3 minutes.
10. Add 1/2 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon turmeric and stir again.
11. Now, add the chapati pieces, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and mix it well.
12. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
13. Add 40 milliliters water and mix it well.
14. Add 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala and mix it again.
15. Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
16. Remove it from heat.
17. Serve hot.
