INGREDIENTS


Chicken Shawarma

Servings - 2 - 3

INGREDIENTS

(For Dough)

Warm water - 100 milliliters

Yeast - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Powdered sugar - 1 teaspoon

Wheat flour - 270 grams

All purpose flour - 130 grams

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Olive oil - 75 milliliters

Warm water - 100 milliliters

Oil - 1 teaspoon

(For Chicken Marination)

Boneless chicken - 500 grams

Yogurt - 60 grams

Ginger Garlic paste - 1/2 tablespoons

Garam masala - 1 teaspoon

Lemon juice - 1/2 tablespoon

Red chili - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Black pepper - 1 teaspoon

Oil - 2 tablespoons

(For Stuffing)

Tomato - 75 grams

Bell pepper - 50 grams

Cabbage - 60 grams

Cucumber - 45 grams

Carrot - 45 grams

Jalapeno - 40 grams

(For Sauce)

Tahini Paste - 10 grams

Garlic mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons

Yogurt - 2 tablespoons

Salt - 1/4 teaspoon

Water - 2 tablespoons

PREPARATION

(For Dough)

1. In a mixing bowl, add 100 milliliters warm water, 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast, 1 teaspoon powdered sugar and mix it well.

2. Rest the mixture for 5 minutes.

3. Add rest of the ingredients except oil and knead it into a smooth soft dough.

4. Then, add 1 teaspoon oil and tuck the dough well.

5. Rest the dough for 30 minutes.

(For Chicken Marination)

1. In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients except oil and mix it well.

2. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes.

3. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pot, add the marinated chicken in it and mix it well.

4. Cover it with lid and cook for 10 - 15 minutes or till it turns golden brown in color or the chicken is tender.

5. Remove it from heat and keep aside.

(For Stuffing)

1. In a mixing bowl, add 75 grams tomato, 50 grams bell pepper, 60 grams cabbage, cooked chicken, 45 grams cucumber, 45 grams carrot, 40 grams jalapeño and mix all the ingredients well. Keep aside.

(For Sauce)

1. In a bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well. Keep aside.

(Rest of the Preparation)

1. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll it into balls.

2. Take a ball from it and roll it into a roti using a rolling pin. Rest it for 15 minutes.

3. Place it on a hot tawa and cook it from both sides till golden brown in color.

4. Place it on a board.

5. Add some prepared stuffing on top of it.

6. Spread the prepared sauce on top of it.

7. Roll it tightly and prick it with a toothpick.

8. Cut it into half.

9. Serve.
