Green Gram Roti With Vegetable Raita

INGREDIENTS
Green gram lentils - 250 grams

Wheat flour - 150 grams

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon

Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon

Warm water - 400 milliliters

Oil - 1 tablespoon

Oil - for brushing

Curd - 400 grams

Boiled bottle gourd - 50 grams

Boiled potatoes - 40 grams

Onions - 40 grams

Tomato - 40 grams

Green chili - 1 teaspoon

Salt - 1/4 teaspoon

Red chili - 1/8 teaspoon

 

PREPARATION

  1. Take a pan, add 250 grams green gram lentils and dry roast for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat or until it turns golden brown in color.
  2. Remove it from heat and transfer this into a blender.
  3. Blend it into a fine powder.
  4. Transfer this into a mixing bowl, add 150 grams wheat flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon red chili, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and mix it well.
  5. Add 400 milliliters warm water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
  6. Rest the dough for 15 - 20 minutes.
  7. Add 1 tablespoon oil and tuck the dough well.
  8. Take a ball from dough and dust it with flour.
  9. Flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
  10. Place it on a hot tawa and cook on moderate heat for 2 - 3 minutes.
  11. Flip it gently and brush it with oil.
  12. Flip it again and brush the other side too.
  13. Cook until it turns golden brown in color from both sides.
  14. Remove it from heat.
  15. In a mixing bowl, add 400 grams curd, 50 grams boiled bottle gourd, 40 grams boiled potatoes, 40 grams onions, 40 grams tomato, 1 teaspoon green chili, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon red chili and mix it well.
  16. Garnish with green chili.
  17. Serve with prepared green gram roti.
