INGREDIENTS
Rice flour - 180 grams
All purpose flour - 70 grams
Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin - 3/4 teaspoon
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Butter - 2 tablespoons
Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
Yogurt - 70 milliliters
Water - 60 milliliters
Oil - for greasing
PREPARATION
1. In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients except water and mix well. Add 60 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
2. Apply some oil in the chalki maker and place a portion of the dough inside it.
3. Tighten the lid and press the chalk maker to prepare the chalk. Move in rounds to get a spiral shape. Make the challis on butter paper, so thats its easy to remove them.
4. Heat sufficient oil in a heavy skillet. Deep fry until golden brown. Drain it on an absorbent paper and let them cool completely.
5. Serve or store in an airtight container or jar.
