KFC Veg Strips

INGREDIENTS


Carrots - 80 grams

Sweet corn - 80 grams

Green peas - 80 grams

Water - 1litre

Potatoes - 530 grams

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Chilli flakes - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Mixed herbs - 1 teaspoon

All purpose flour - 40 grams

Corn flour - 20 grams

All purpose flour - 100 grams

Corn flour - 65 grams

Water - 180 milliliters

Bread crumbs - for coating

Corn flakes mixture - for coating

Oil - for frying

PREPARATION

1. In a steamer, add 80 grams carrots, 80 grams sweet corn, 80 grams green peas and place it a steamer.

2. Steam for 12 - 15 minutes.

3. Remove it from steamer.

4. Heat 1 litre water in a pressure cooker, add 530 grams potatoes and cover it with lid.

5. Cook until you hear 3 whistles.

6. Open the lid and remove it from heat.

7. Peel the potatoes and transfer this into a bowl.

8. Mash the potatoes with the help of a food masher.

9. Then, add the steamed veggies, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons chilli flakes, 1 teaspoon mixed herbs, 40 grams all purpose flour, 20 grams corn flour

and mix all the ingredients well.

10. Transfer this mixture into a tray and spread it evenly.

11. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

12. In a mixing bowl, add 100 grams all purpose flour, 65 grams corn flour, 180 milliliters water and mix it well to make a thick batter.

13. Remove the mixture from the refrigerator.

14. Cut it into strips.

15. Dip it in prepared all purpose flour mixture.

16. Roll it in bread crumbs.

17. Then, coat it with corn flakes mixture properly.

18. Heat sufficient oil in a heavy skillet and deep fry these until golden brown and crispy.

19. Drain it on an absorbent paper.

20. Serve hot.
