Soya Chaap Fries

INGREDIENTS

Soybean - 250 grams

Wate - 1 litre

Soya chunks - 80 grams

Warm water - 940 milliliters, divided

Wheat flour - 230 grams

All purpose flour - 230 grams

Ice cream sticks

Water - 1.4 litres

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Paprika - 1 teaspoon

Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon

Onion powder - 1 teaspoon

Ginger - 1 tablespoon

Garlic - 1 tablespoon

Lemon juice - 1 1/2 tablespoons

All purpose flour - 150 grams

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Water - 220 milliliters

Bread crumbs - for coating

Oil - for deep frying

 

PREPARATION

  1. In a bowl, add 250 grams soybean, 1 litre water and soak for overnight.
  2. In a another bowl, add 80 grams soya chunks, 800 milliliters warm water and soak for 40 minutes.
  3. In a blender, add the soaked soybean, 80 milliliters water and blend it into a paste. Keep aside.
  4. In a blender, add the soaked soya chunks, 60 milliliters water and blend it into a paste. Keep aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, add 230 grams wheat flour, 230 grams all purpose flour, blended soya chunks, blended soybeans and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
  6. Rest the dough for 5- 7 minutes.
  7. Take a ball from dough and flatten it with the help of your rolling pin.
  8. Cut it into long strips.
  9. Take a strip and roll it on ice cream stick.
  10. Do the same with all the strips.
  11. Take a skillet, add 1.4 litres water and add the prepared soya chaap in it.
  12. Bring it to a boil. Boil for about 8 - 10 minutes on medium heat.
  13. Remove it from heat and place it on a board.
  14. Cut it into long thin pieces and transfer this into a bowl.
  15. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon ginger, 1 tablespoon garlic, 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice and mix it well.
  16. Marinate for 20 - 25 minutes.
  17. In a bowl, add 150 grams all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and mix it well.
  18. Add 220 milliliters water in batches and mix it well to make a thick batter.
  19. Dip the marinate chaap in it and then roll it in bread crumbs properly.
  20. Heat sufficient oil in a deep fryer and deep fry these until golden brown and crispy.
  21. Drain it on an absorbent paper.
  22. Serve hot.
