Tawa Bread Pakora

INGREDIENTS
Oil - 20 milliliters

Cumin - 1 teaspoon

Ginger - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Green chili - 1 teaspoon

Onions - 50 grams

Boiled green peas - 50 grams

Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Red chili - 1 teaspoon

Black salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon

Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon

Dry mango powder - 1 teaspoon

Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon

Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Boiled mashed potatoes - 500 grams

Coriander - 1 tablespoon

Gram flour - 250 grams

Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon

Salt - 1/4 teaspoon

Red chili - 1/4 teaspoon

Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon

Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon

Dry fenugreek leaves - 1 teaspoon

Water - 300 milliliters

Bread slices

Oil - for shallow frying

 

PREPARATION

  1. Heat 20 milliliters oil in a pan, add 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger and stir for 1 - 2 minutes.
  2. Then, add 1 teaspoon green chili, 50 grams onions and fry till translucent or until it turns golden brown in color.
  3. Now, add 50 grams boiled green peas and mix it well.
  4. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
  5. Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and stir well.
  6. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon red chili, 1/2 teaspoon black salt, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon chaat masala, 1 teaspoon dry mango powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and mix it well.
  7. Now, add 500 grams boiled mashed potatoes and mix it well.
  8. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
  9. Add 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it well.
  10. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
  11. In a mixing bowl, add 250 grams gram flour, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon red chili, 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon dry fenugreek leaves, 300 milliliters water and mix it well to make a thick batter.
  12. Take a bread slice and place it on a board.
  13. Add the prepared stuffing on it and spread it evenly.
  14. Cover it with another slice of bread. Cut it into half.
  15. Dip it in the prepared batter.
  16. Heat some oil on a tawa and place the bread pakora on it.
  17. Cook on moderate for 2 - 3 minutes and flip it gently.
  18. Cook until it turns golden brown in color from all sides.
  19. Remove it from heat.
  20. Serve hot.
