Vada Pav Taco

INGREDIENTS

Oil - 1 teaspoon

Dry red chili - 1

Garlic cloves - 15 grams

Desiccated coconut - 30 grams

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon

Oil - 1 1/2 teaspoons

Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon

Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon

Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon

Curry leaves - 1 tablespoon

Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon

Green chili - 1

Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon

Boiled mashed potatoes - 200 grams

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon

Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Coriander - 1 tablespoon

Bread slices

Butter - for brushing

Green chutney - to taste

 

PREPARATION

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan, add 1 dry red chili, 15 grams garlic cloves and stir well.
  2. Add 30 grams desiccated coconut and mix it well.
  3. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat or until it turns golden brown in color.
  4. Remove it from heat and transfer this into a blender.
  5. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon paprika and blend it into a fine powder. Keep aside.
  6. Heat 1 1/2 teaspoons oil in a skillet, add 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida, 1 tablespoon curry leaves and stir well.
  7. Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1 green chili and stir for 1 - 2 minutes.
  8. Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and stir gain.
  9. Then, add 200 grams boiled mashed potatoes and mix it well.
  10. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
  11. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala and mix it well.
  12. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it again.
  13. Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
  14. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
  15. Now, take a bread slice and cut out circle from it.
  16. Flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
  17. Brush it with butter.
  18. Take a cupcake tray and place it on opposite side.
  19. Place the prepared roti in it to make a taco. (See Video)
  20. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for about 5 minutes.
  21. Remove it from oven.
  22. Take the taco and add some green chutney in it.
  23. Then, add the prepared potatoes in it.
  24. Now, add dip it in the blended mixture.
  25. Serve.
