Spinach Soup

INGREDIENTS

Butter - 1 tablespoon
Bay leaf - 1
Garlic - 1 tablespoon
Green chili - 1 teaspoon
Onions - 50 grams
Spinach - 250 grams
Water - 150 milliliters
Milk - 100 milliliters
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon

PREPARATION


1. Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a heavy skillet, add 1 bay leaf, 1 tablespoon garlic, 1 teaspoon green chili and stir for 1 - 2 minutes.
2. Then, add 50 grams onions and fry till translucent.
3. Now, add 250 grams spinach and mix it well.
4. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
5. Add 150 milliliters water and mix it well.
6. Cook for for 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
7. Remove it from heat and transfer this into a blender.
8. Blend it into a puree.
9. Transfer this puree into a skillet, add 100 milliliters milk and mix it well.
10. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon sugar and mix it well.
11. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
12. Remove it from heat.
13. Garnish with fresh cream and toasted bread cubes.
14. Serve hot.
